Q. What inspired you to pursue a career as a physician? I guess having asthma, seasonal allergies, and really bad eyesight as a child necessitating at least twice weekly doctor visits well into my high school years. I could not even do PE until 5th grade!

Q. What are some of the highlights of your career? Teaching 19 years of Dermatology at UCLA. Being chief of a 7 doctor dermatology department at Southern California Kaiser for 10 years (learning never to be an administrator again). Winning the UCLA dermatology teaching award at UCLA 5 times.
Q. What do you recommend patients do to maintain healthy skin? Avoid tanning & moisturize
Q: Do you have advice for preventing the signs of aging without spending a fortune? Avoid tanning
What do you include in your own skin care regimen? Unscented sensitive skin cleansers and moisturizers. I avoid scented personal, body, & laundry products. Oh… and I avoid tanning!
Q. What are the most common procedures you perform? I perform skin cancer surgery. I avoid doing cosmetic procedures.

Q. What do you like to do for fun? Gardening, bird watching & caring for my Cavalier King Charles Spaniels
