JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC now available at The Woodruff Institute

Volbella, the newly FDA-approved low concentration hyaluronic acid filler from the Allergen Juvederm family, is now available at The Woodruff Institute for Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery.

Volbella is the newest filler approved by the FDA. Like its cousin, Voluma, Volbella comes from the makers of Botox, and is comprised of cross-linked Hyaluronic Acid, but its defining characteristic is its ultra smooth, ultra fine, and ultra soft consistency, making it an ideal filler for pesky lines around the mouth, aka “smoker’s lines” (although these occur in non-smokers too!), and for those who want a very natural lip rejuvenation.

We are excited about Volbella for correction of lines around the mouth. In the past this area has been difficult to treat. Now, we have a product that is approved to address this specific patient concern. Volbella provides filling of wrinkles and lines, and shaping of the lips with minimal swelling effect, unlike other fillers on the market where you typically have a few days of swelling before the lips settle down. It is not meant to give you larger lips, but more a better defined, glossing, slight plumping effect, like wearing the best lip gloss you can imagine 24-7.

And since Volbella is pre-mixed with Lidocaine, a numbing agent, there is less pain! While there may be some swelling after injection of Volbella it usually lasts from one to two days and bruising tends to be minimal, if not rare. Normal activities can be resumed immediately after treatment.
