Q: What inspired you to pursue a career as a PA?
I have always enjoyed helping people and have had a deep interest in science and medicine. While working in advertising sales, I began volunteering in an ER in Texas and immediately knew that becoming a PA was the path I wanted to pursue.
Q: What are your specialties?
I genuinely enjoy cosmetic dermatology. The artistry of it is fun for me, but the most rewarding part is seeing patients’ reactions when they notice improvements in their appearance. While it may not be life-saving work, it truly helps people feel better about themselves. I also love helping those who struggle with skin issues—making a difference in their confidence and comfort is incredibly fulfilling.
Q: What are some highlights of your career?
I began my career in cardiac surgery, which provided many memorable experiences. The impact you can have on someone’s life in that setting is remarkable. But honestly, the most meaningful part of my career has been the lasting impressions my patients have left on me. Many of them have changed my perspective on life, and for that, I’m very grateful.
Q: What are three things a patient can do to maintain healthy skin?
Use sunscreen with zinc oxide, wear sun-protective clothing, and stay hydrated—both by drinking plenty of water and using a daily moisturizer.
Q: Do you have advice for preventing signs of aging without breaking the bank?
A great place to start is with consistent use of quality skincare products. Beyond that, treatments like BBL (broadband light) can make a big difference by reducing brown spots and redness. It’s one of the more affordable procedures that offers excellent results.
Q: What do you include in your own skincare regimen?
In the morning, I use a vitamin C serum, moisturizer, and a tinted sunscreen (which doubles as my makeup). In the evening, I apply Plated exosomes and a retinol.
Q: What are the most common procedures you perform or recommend?
The procedures I most often recommend are also the ones I perform most frequently: neurotoxins (like Botox and Dysport), fillers, and BBL treatments.
Q: What do you like to do for fun?
I enjoy playing golf and tennis, and I absolutely love traveling.
Q: What do you like most about working at The Woodruff Institute?
Hands down—the people! We have such a wonderful team at TWI. It’s also rewarding to collaborate with such an intelligent and inspiring group of colleagues.
Q: What’s one thing everybody should know about you?
I really try to stay on time!
